Malaysian shoppers often prefer paying from their existing bank account. FPX covers that behaviour — the customer authenticates with their bank, so you get a bank-authorised online payment without asking for a card.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an FPX payment gateway?

An FPX payment gateway lets your website or ecommerce store accept Malaysia’s FPX online banking payments without a direct PayNet merchant contract. Customers pay from their bank account via the FPX redirect; the gateway handles authorisation, confirmation, and settlement to your merchant account.

How much does HitPay charge for FPX in Malaysia?

Online FPX is 1.8% + RM 0.40 per successful transaction on HitPay’s Malaysia pricing page. No setup fee and no monthly fee. Confirm live rates on the Malaysia pricing page.

Can I accept FPX on Shopify and WooCommerce?

Yes. Use HitPay’s Shopify Payment Gateway app or WooCommerce plugin, enable FPX after Malaysia verification, and test a live payment. Shopify does not offer FPX natively for Malaysia. Step-by-step install: Shopify FPX and DuitNow setup for Malaysia.

How long do FPX payouts take on HitPay?

Non-card HitPay Balance payouts, including FPX, follow T+2 business days on the Malaysia pricing page. Do not assume next-day settlement unless the pricing page is updated.

Do I need a separate bank FPX contract?

No. With HitPay, FPX is enabled on your merchant account after verification. HitPay provides the gateway connection to the FPX rail for supported online channels.

Is HitPay licensed in Malaysia?

HitPay operates in Malaysia under HitPay Payment Solutions Sdn Bhd (SSM 202101017021) and Mobiedge E-commerce Sdn Bhd (SSM 201501003595). Mobiedge is a registered merchant acquirer regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia. Full wording on the licence and registrations page.

FPX vs DuitNow — which should I enable?

Enable both if your buyers use online banking and QR. FPX fits the classic “pay with online banking” checkout; DuitNow QR fits scan-to-pay. Fees differ: FPX is 1.8% + RM 0.40 and DuitNow is 1.2% online on HitPay.

Are FPX payments refundable on HitPay?

FPX supports refunds on HitPay’s payment-methods reference for Malaysia. There are no additional HitPay processing fees for refunds; original transaction fees are non-refundable per the pricing page refunds policy.
