What Shopify costs in the Philippines
Shopify charges a monthly plan fee that depends on the plan you pick. Check the current plan prices on Shopify’s own pricing page. On top of the plan, you pay your payment provider for each transaction. That second cost is what this guide covers.
How to take payments on Shopify in the Philippines
Shopify doesn’t natively offer GCash or QR Ph at checkout, so most Philippine stores add a third-party payment app. HitPay’s Shopify app adds QR Ph, GCash, cards and other popular e-wallets to one checkout, and the money lands in the same HitPay balance you use for payment links and in-store sales.
HitPay fees on Shopify (Philippines)
Method | HitPay rate | Shopify app fee | Payout |
|---|---|---|---|
QR Ph | 1% or ₱20, whichever is higher | +0.5% | T+1 calendar day |
GCash | 2.3% | +0.5% | T+1 calendar day |
Local cards (Visa, Mastercard) | 3% + ₱15 | +0.5% | T+7 calendar days |
International cards | 4% + ₱15 | +0.5% | T+7 calendar days |
Rates exclude VAT. No setup fee and no monthly fee. Source: hitpayapp.com/ph/pricing.
Worked example: on a ₱2,000 GCash order, HitPay’s fee is 2.3% (₱46) plus 0.5% for the Shopify app (₱10), so ₱56 in total before VAT.
Is HitPay the cheapest option for Shopify in the Philippines?
Not always, and it’s worth saying so. Because HitPay adds 0.5% on Shopify orders, a provider with no app surcharge can come out cheaper for an online-only store that takes mostly QR Ph or e-wallets. Compare published rates before you choose. HitPay is the better fit when you also sell in store or by payment link, or sell to customers in Singapore or Malaysia, and want one account and one dashboard for all of it. See HitPay vs PayMongo.
How to set up HitPay on Shopify
Create a HitPay account and activate the payment methods you want.
Install “HitPay Payment Gateway“ from the Shopify App Store (apps.shopify.com/hitpay-payment-gateway) and click Add app.
Log in to HitPay when you’re redirected, then click Continue.
In Shopify admin, open the HitPay app, click Manage, set your checkout logos and click Activate App.
In the HitPay dashboard, go to Integrations, then Shopify, and choose the methods shown at checkout. Run a test order in test mode before you go live.
Shipping and cash on delivery
Many Philippine shoppers still ask for cash on delivery. Shopify handles COD as a manual payment method, separate from HitPay. Offering QR Ph and GCash at checkout gives buyers a cashless option that settles the next day.
