What payment methods are covered by HitPay's startup program?
The program covers local real-time bank transfer rails (PayNow, QRPh, FPX, DuitNow, QRIS, VietQR, PromptPay) and mobile e-wallets (GCash, GrabPay, ShopeePay, Touch'n Go, WeChat Pay, Maya, DANA, OVO, KakaoPay, NaverPay, and more) across 7 APAC markets. Card payments (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and BNPL methods (Atome, GrabPay PayLater, ShopeePay Later) are not included.
Do I need to replace my existing Stripe integration to use HitPay?
No. HitPay integrates directly with your existing Stripe setup via Stripe Custom Payment Methods (CPM). APAC local payment methods appear natively inside Stripe's Payment Element alongside your existing card checkout. Transactions sync back to your Stripe dashboard via the Payment Records API, so you maintain a single source of truth for reporting. Full integration docs at docs.hitpayapp.com/connections/stripe/overview.
How much payment volume does $100,000 in free processing cover?
It depends on your payment method mix. On local bank rails like PayNow (0.65% fee) or QRPh (1% fee), $100,000 in free processing covers approximately US$200,000–$625,000 in payment volume. On e-wallets like GCash (2.3% fee) or GrabPay (3% fee), it covers approximately US$67,000–$100,000. Most startups with a balanced mix of rails and e-wallets see coverage of approximately US$130,000–$200,000 in total volume.
Which markets does HitPay support?
HitPay supports payment processing in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and South Korea, with additional coverage in Australia, Hong Kong, and India. HitPay is directly licensed by central banks in Singapore (MAS), Malaysia (BNM), the Philippines (BSP), Australia (AUSTRAC), and the United States (FinCEN).
Is HitPay regulated?
Yes. HitPay is licensed and regulated by five financial authorities: MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore), BNM (Bank Negara Malaysia), BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas), AUSTRAC (Australia), and FinCEN (USA). HitPay is also PCI-DSS compliant and has processed over US$1.5 billion in payments for 20,000+ partners.
What types of startups are eligible for the program?
The program is open to startups from Y Combinator, Antler, Iterative, a16z Speedrun, and other leading accelerators that are building for or expanding into APAC markets. Both bootstrapped and venture-backed startups are eligible - unlike Airwallex Startups (which requires VC funding) or Stripe Atlas (which requires US incorporation), HitPay's program has no funding-stage or incorporation requirements.
How long are the credits valid?
Credits are valid for 12 months from activation. The credit value is capped at US$1,000 per month to ensure fair distribution across the program. Any unused credits expire at the end of the 12-month period.
Does HitPay support recurring billing and subscriptions?
Yes. HitPay supports recurring billing via both auto-charge (for tokenizable methods like cards and some e-wallets) and out-of-band flows (for QR-based payments like PayNow and QRPh). HitPay also integrates with Stripe Billing, so subscription businesses can use Stripe for billing logic while routing APAC local payment methods through HitPay.
How does HitPay's startup program compare to Stripe Atlas credits?
Stripe Atlas offers US$2,500 in processing credits (~US$85,000 in volume equivalent at Stripe's card rates), but only covers card payments - Stripe has zero coverage for APAC local payment rails like PayNow, QRPh, FPX, or GCash. HitPay's program offers US$100,000 in free local payment processing, covers 30+ APAC payment methods, and doesn't require US incorporation. For startups targeting APAC markets, HitPay covers the payment methods Stripe Atlas can't.
How do I activate the startup program?
Email [email protected] with your company name, website, the APAC market(s) you're targeting, and a brief note on your product. The HitPay team will review your request and respond within 2 business days. Credits are activated automatically once your account is set up.
